Noble Fur packed a lot of living into the six years that she was my companion. In the summer of 2019, I was planning to stay in a motel in the town of Wallowa in northeast Oregon. That’s where I’d stayed the previous summer. The motel room didn’t offer ideal lodging for Noble Fur, because she would be confined to a small space during the day while I worked.
It was a pleasant surprise to learn that the owner of the motel managed a triplex in Enterprise, fifteen miles to the southeast. One apartment was vacant, and the price was right. The triplex sat across the road from the county fairgrounds. Whenever the parking lots started filling up, I knew that an event was about to start.
The main part of the fairgrounds was not open to pets, but the parking lots offered plenty of room for evening walks. One neighbor had three cats, all of them curious about the “New Cat in Town.” I totally forgot that I had this video. It opens with the Fairgrounds sign, and follows Noble Fur as she gets acquanted with one of the resident kitties.
Follow along as Noble Fur explores the neighborhood surrounding her temporary summer home. Most of the pics were taken with my phone, and were of dubious quality. The “sharpen” tool in my photo editor was a big help.
No story about a fairgrounds would be complete without a close-up of a pig snout, right?
Bonus video! Grasshoppers were plentiful, and Noble Fur enjoyed chasing them. The video won’t imbed here, probably because it’s in a vertical format rather than horizontal. Click and enjoy!

I shall close with a picture that didn’t come out as intended. Kitty was next to the window, with a nice sunset outside. The sunset came out okay, but Noble Fur was dark. Photo editing wasn’t helping much, so I turned the dials to 11 and and came up with this psychedelic masterpiece.
That’s it for today’s adventure. Bring on your comments and pics; they’re always appreciated.
